About us
Austin Guinea Pig Rescue is a tax-exempt non-profit organization (Tax ID 46-3542287) dedicated to rehoming guinea pigs in the Austin, Texas area. Our rescued animals are treated for any medical issues, socialized and fostered until they are ready to be adopted.
Our current President, Elizabeth Mack, has been involved in animal rescue for more than 30 years. The other members in our Board of Directors are Meg Luck (Treasurer), Amy Constant (Secretary), Pacey Chynoweth (Member at Large), Javier de la Fuente (Member at Large), and Lucia Summers (Founding Director). These six individuals comprise our Board of Directors and bring lifelong experience in animal rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption.
Past Board of Director members include Founding Directors Kim Meyer and Kelsey McNitt.
We do not yet have a public shelter; instead, all our animals are in private foster homes.
