Thank you for the ongoing support!

Welcome to the Austin Guinea Pig Rescue! We are a 17+ year old, foster-home-based rescue organization servicing more than two dozen shelters and animal rescues in Central Texas.  All donations to our organization are tax deductible.

Interested in donating?
You can mail checks to the address listed on our contact page, donate using PayPal, sign up to be a sustaining donor on our Facebook page, or donate via Petestablished.

Interested in fostering?
We love our fosters and couldn't operate without them! We are especially in need of fosters with medical expertise. We can work with universities, veterinarians, and veterinary technician programs to provide real world experience, class credit, and resume building medical experience. You can apply to foster here.

Interested in adopting?
You can view the current guinea pigs who are available for adoption on PetFinder. If you'd like to adopt, please complete and application here. If you don't see a guinea you'd like to adopt, please check back weekly! We are always taking in new guineas and updating the list. We will call you to review the application and see if you and our piggies are a good fit! We are happy to answer additional questions about the animals you are interested in at that time.

Interested in donating supplies?
We have an Amazon wish list here where you will find food, bedding items, toys and gift cards that we need. We also accept any grocery store gift cards (HEB, Randalls, Walmart, etc.) to purchase fresh food.

If you have any items you would like to donate (that aren't expired), please email us to arrange a time to drop them off.

Do you need boarding or pet maintenance care?
If you are needing boarding, please email us and/or fill out a boarding application. Boarding is $15 per night for singles, $25 per night for two bonded pigs in a single cage, and $30 per night for three bonded guinea pigs in a single cage. Nail trims and other services are also available for a small fee, contact us for details!

Looking to rehome your pet?
As a responsible owner, we expect you to either:
  1. Keep your pet - We can provide advice/support to help you with this. Reach out to us for support.
  2. Find your pet a good home - If posting on Craigslist, Nextdoor, or other groups, please do not offer your pet for free, as he/she may then be used for (human/reptile) food. Always charge $25 or more.
  3. Surrender your pet to an animal shelter - We work with area shelters, and they will contact us for support as needed. They are trained in handling guineas and will take your pet and treat them well.

Whatever you do, please do NOT dump your pet outdoors (inside/without a cage). They will die or get sick or get horrifically injured! They cannot survive in the wild!
