Donate
We are a VERY small rescue organization and largely rely on donations from the general public. The reason many of our rescued animals are abandoned is that they require medical treatment (which their owners are not prepare to finance), so we regularly end up with expensive veterinary bills.
At times, it is a struggle to afford this, but we're fully committed to ensuring all our animals receive the care they need and we NEVER euthanize healthy animals. Here's where you come in. Anything you can help with will make a difference.

And don't forget to ask for your tax-exempt donation receipt if it does not email to you automatically!

Add funds to our account at Westgate Pet and Bird Hospital or Agave Vet Care and Exotic Animal Hospital
We mainly use Westgate Pet and Bird and Agave Veterinary Hospitals. Despite their kindly giving us discounted rates, our bill is always high. This is because many of our rescued animals are in need of emergency veterinary care. You can always call them and add some funds to Austin Guinea Pig Rescue's account. Here are their details:

Donate towards one of our animal-specific campaigns
When we get a rescued animal who requires veterinary care that is particularly expensive, we sometimes set up a fundraising campaign for that animal. All current fundraisers can be found on our Facebook page.

Donate items for our animals
If you prefer, you can also purchase the items you'd like to donate and deliver them to us. Just email us to arrange a time to drop them off. You can also make things if you like! For instance, we have previously had donations of empty toilet tissue rolls stuffed with orchard grass hay, which make great chewing toys. All you have to do is collect some empty toilet rolls, buy some orchard grass hay (we usually use Oxbow's), and stuff the hay in them - easy! (Timothy hay can be used as well, but this is not as fine as the orchard grass hay, which makes the stuffing harder. Straw should not be used, though.) Finally, we are always happy to receive UNEXPIRED and unused litter, hay and/or pellets. |
